ECTRIMS Conference Coverage
Today, no doubt, was a day filled with great anticipation as distinguished physicians presented their research and data for MS. Two such topics were reported by MedPage: http://www.medpagetoday.com/MeetingCoverage/ECTRIMS/42036:
Early, Steady MS Treatment Cuts Progressive Risk
Higher Vitamin D Levels Linked to Less Activity
So happy to read presentation data confirming the benefits of early DMD treatment, preferably after diagnosis, in an effort to halt, slow down the disease process and cutting the progression risk. Many studies have shown that early treatment with a DMD benefits patients with CIS (clinically isolated syndrome) and RRMS (relapsing remitting MS) diagnoses.
Great debate has been ongoing regarding Vitamin D and MS, particularly dosage. “Is it beneficial to patients or not?” “How much is enough or too much?” Vitamin D deficiency is revealed with a simple blood test. Ask you physician to order today to see if you could benefit from supplementation.
