Welcome!  I’m Catherine and glad you stopped by.  I am a wife and mother of three grown boys living with Relapsing Remitting MS since November, 2000.

It’s important to me to be the very best I can be.  My family is watching.  They know I don’t expect any more from them then I do from myself.Cone Flowers  Life hands us all some detours for sure, but it’s all about what you do with what’s dealt your way be it good, bad or indifferent.  Isn’t it?

Whether you’re newly diagnosed with MS or have been living with it for some time like me, it truly helps to talk to someone who has been there, offering their tips of the day, providing words of encouragement, reassurance that it’s going to be okay.  This has always been priceless for me.  Now, I’d like to do the same.

Remember the Many Surprises (as my husband calls them) that MS may bring…and don’t be discouraged while reaching for your goals and dreams.  Courage is required for each and every attempt you make.  Some goals will come easily, others with modification or simply crossed off your list.  You can be very proud of yourself as you discover what it takes for you to be the very best you can be.

I’m blessed with the love and support from God, my husband,  family and dear friends who help me reach for my goals and dreams each and every day.  Challenge yourself to do the same!

  1. Billie

You have just been nominated for the Liebster Award! For more, click here: http://ireland-ms.com/2014/02/03/liebster-award-no-4/

    • Thank you for your kind message Billie. Pardon my ignorance, I’m not sure what this means? That’s a beginning blogger for you! 🙂

  2. Catherine, I couldn’t find a contact page on your blog. But I wanted to tell you about a great company called, The Home T. at http://www.thehomet.com. I have bought several items from them that are great…most importantly they give a portion of their profits to MS research. Just thought you’d like to check it out. Thanks for your continuing great info. Hope you are enjoying my blog, “You just have to Laugh….”

    • Thank you Cathy! I clicked on above, registered and did some shopping…all for a good cause! 🙂 I truly am enjoying your blog as, “You just have to laugh!” You’re a blessing to your brother-in-law! 🙂

  3. One of our dear nieces has been living with MS for many years. She is a role model of what the word ‘strong’ means when it comes to character and attitude. The best to you in this journey. 🙂

    • Thank you for your reply, Judy! Just made me smile as I hear your pure joy and admiration for your niece. As a patient, that is priceless for our families not to worry as we fight the good fight! Your love and support means so much! 🙂

  4. Hi Catherine.
Your story is inspiring. Inspiring in the sense of how you see life even with MS. Looking forward to reading more of your posts. God bless you and your family…..

    • Thank you for visiting and your kind words Rolain! I’m inspired by, “take a mess and make it into a message.” Striving to do His will through it all. Hope you’re enjoying your restaurant! Blessings ~

  5. Hi Catherine. I found your blog through a comment under another blog I follow. Your message really resonates with me! Although I am blessed enough to have symptoms that don’t seem to get in the way too much – except the dreaded fatigue. It is all about having a good attitude. I have MS but it doesn’t define me. I see my MS as a blessing. Without it we wouldn’t have made the lifestyle changes that have lead to a wonderful career as a gardener, writer and speaker, that can fit perfectly around an MSsy lifestyle in a way an ordinary 9-5 career couldn’t. God is fully in charge of my journey and has swung doors wide open for me. I trust Him. I hope you continue to make progress in your journey and may God continue to bless you richly. You are light and an inspiration in what can be a dark situation for many.
    Cheers Sarah : o )

    • Thank you for your kind words Sarah! Funny how God is always hard at work taking us right where He wants us to be, MS and all, Allowing support and encouraging each other through our journeys while developing friendships, all through blogging. I’m glad we were able to connect and I look forward to following your gardening ventures! 🙂

  11. I read one of your comments Catherine on a Blogging friends Post, it was so filled with Love that I just had to come and visit you. I do not have M.S but I have a Niece that does and I’m also disabled.

Yes Life brings Storms, some that seem very hard to walk through but as The Lord in the Scripture below confirms, we never walk through them alone.

Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid Catherine , for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name Catherine; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God Catherine, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”

Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you Catherine, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Lamentations 3: 33 For God doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

Christian Love from both of us – Anne

    • Hello Anne and thank you for your heart-felt words and scripture references. I have no doubt you are a true blessing to your niece and place your trust in Him while managing your own disability. With God, all things are indeed possible. 🙂 Thank you for your like and visiting.

  15. Chevron Spots

    Hi friend,

I would like to let you know that I enjoy reading your blog so much that I nominated you for the Encouraging Thunder award. I know some people find these dreary or time consuming and so I will not be offended if you choose only to acknowledge this recognition to yourself but you may follow through on it as well if you like.

    • Thank you Jessie for your kind words. I appreciate your nomination very much. Connecting with bloggers brings the greatest joy to me. I’m grateful for your blog and look forward to reading me. Be well, friend!

  16. Hi Cath!

First my apologies for leaving this as a comment on your blog but did not see another option to contact you. I am another MS blogger (http://www.bbhwithms.com/) and I have put together an MS Resources pg that has sort of taken on a life of it’s own. But given the positive feedback that I have gotten I have now made it a goal to keep adding to it and trying to make sure that it is up to date and current. I would LOVE to add your blog – here is the pg link http://www.bbhwithms.com/resources-all-things-ms/

I look forward to reading more of your story.

    Meg (aka BBH)

    • Hi Meg, Thank you for your comment and for stopping by. I will definitely check out your blog! Sounds very exciting for you! Take good care and talk soon!
